ABOUT AXO
AXO Architects specializes in technically complex buildings requiring a high degree of integration between architectural and engineering systems.
We believe that all design is essentially creative problem-solving.
We believe the most creative solutions come from collaboration with clients, engineers, contractors and all project stakeholders.
We remain intimately involved in this collaboration from conceptualization and site planning, through design and documentation, to construction and occupancy.
In 2020, AXO was given its present name. The name is both an abbreviation and an acronym. (And we also like the way it looks.) As an abbreviation it is short for Axonometric; a 3-dimensional analytical drawing type we rely on. As an acronym it is short for Architecture by Objective. Because at the end of the day, the Objective of all our creative collaborative efforts is the making of Architecture. And Architecture is more than just a building.
Previously, the firm was known as Herring & Trowbridge Architects after its 1991 founders, David Herring and David Trowbridge.
